We wouldn't normally comment on American Muscle cars, but it is hard to ignore the horsepower race that dodge seems to be waging with itself at the moment!
It seems far to coincidental that at the same time that McLaren CEO Mike Flewitt has called for automakers to enter a "weight race" and put an end to the horsepower wars, Dodge release the new Dodge Challenger RedEye.
Speaking at an industry summit in London, Flewitt suggested automakers and governments should work together to "develop the synergies between future powertrain development and the clever use of lighter materials that will help save weight and, therefore, reduce the energy needed to power them."
Instead ,Dodge decided to release the new Redeye which Following the Demon's end of production, now claims the title of most powerful, quickest and fastest muscle car. It bridges the gap between the basic Hellcat and Demon in term of engine output, with 797 horsepower and 707 pound-feet of torque.
Drivers can expect to hit 60 mph in just 3.4 seconds, finish a quarter-mile run in 10.8 seconds and reach a new top speed of 203 mph!
